Hey, I’m Megan (she/they).
clinical herbalist
Collaborative
I see herbal care as a collaborative process. We work together to understand your health concerns, identify your goals, and create a plan that feels realistic, supportive, and tailored to your life. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all protocol, I listen closely to your experience and adjust recommendations based on your needs, preferences, and feedback over time.
My Approach
Educational
I want you to leave with a better understanding of your body and the reasoning behind your care plan. My approach includes clear, practical education about herbs, physiology, and the patterns that may be shaping your symptoms, so you can feel informed and empowered in your choices rather than confused or overwhelmed.
Attuned
I approach our time together with respect for your lived experience, capacity, and pace. That means creating space for questions, honouring your boundaries, and offering support in a way that feels grounded and responsive to where you are right now.
When you book an initial consultation with me, we start with a thorough intake. We take the time to talk through your health history, current concerns, medications and supplements, cycle patterns (if applicable), digestion, sleep, stress, and the day-to-day realities of your life.
what to expect
I’m interested not only in “what’s wrong,” but in what’s working, your priorities, and what kind of support actually feels doable. Based on this picture, I develop a working understanding of what your body might be asking for.
After the consultation, I put together a personalized herbal plan. This might include a tincture blend, tea, powder, or a combination, depending on your needs and preferences.
I consider your medications, any allergies or sensitivities, your constitution, and your lifestyle.
What Clients are Saying
“I felt very heard by Megan. Which was very refreshing as you don’t always get that during a health consult. Megan’s assessment was bang on! She helped immensely with a prescribed remedy for a reset of my system and then I was able to make lifestyle changes as well. Thanks for your caring support, Megan!”

An initial consultation is a chance for us to look at the bigger picture of your health. We will talk through your main concerns, your health history, current symptoms, medications and supplements, and the factors in your daily life that may be shaping how you feel, such as stress, sleep, digestion, appetite, or cycle patterns.
From there, I put together a personalized plan based on your goals, your constitution, and the patterns that emerge in your case. My aim is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of what may be going on, why certain herbs or strategies are being considered, and what the next steps are. -
I create your custom herbal formulas at a local Apothecary called Apotheka Herbal (www.apothekaherbal.ca)

A clinical herbalist can support a wide range of health concerns by using medicinal plants alongside detailed case-taking, individualized recommendations, and ongoing follow-up. My practice has a particular focus on menstrual health, perimenopause, and postmenopausal support, while also welcoming clients with other concerns who are looking for thoughtful, personalized care.
-
No. While these are core areas of focus in my practice, I am open to supporting a broader range of concerns as well. If you are not sure whether your concern is a fit, you are welcome to reach out before booking and I can let you know whether it sounds like a good match.
-
Sometimes yes, but it depends on the medication and the herbs being considered. Some herbs can interact with prescription drugs, so it is important that I know what you are taking before making recommendations.
I do not advise stopping prescription medications without the involvement of your prescribing practitioner. My approach is collaborative and safety-conscious, and when needed I will encourage you to stay in communication with your doctor or pharmacist as part of your care.
-
No. Herbal care does not need to be approached as an either-or choice. Many people work with a clinical herbalist alongside their family doctor, specialist, therapist, physiotherapist, or other practitioners.
My role is to offer individualized herbal support within the bigger picture of your health care. I value collaborative care and want clients to feel supported, informed, and well held, not pushed away from other forms of care that may be important to them.

That depends on your goals, the nature of the concern, and how long it has been going on. Some people notice shifts fairly quickly, while more longstanding or complex patterns often need more time and consistency. Good care is usually less about a quick fix and more about steady, meaningful change over time.
At follow-ups, we review what is changing, what is not, and whether the plan still feels appropriate. Herbs and recommendations can be adjusted as your symptoms, capacity, and priorities change.
